Academic Affairs is Academic Excellence.
Under the leadership of Vice Provost Antonio Moreira, Academic Affairs collaborates with the Provost, the Vice Presidents, the Academic Deans, the Dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, and the Dean of the Graduate School to shape and enhance the educational experience of all UMBC students, from first-time freshmen to transfer students to seasoned Ph.D. candidates. We uphold UMBC’s commitment to academic excellence through program development, approval, review, (including accreditation), and assessment and the stewardship of support services across undergraduate and graduate education.
As the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Dr. Moreira represents UMBC in academic agreements, including international programs, and takes the lead within Academic Affairs regarding space management and planning new academic buildings.
